The Instructional Facilities Planning Department (IFPD) has responsibility for district-wide and inter-divisional coordination for establishing school attendance boundaries. Administrative Regulation 5116 and Board Policy 5116 are the relevant policy documents.
Adjustment to Attendance Areas of Nipaquay and Carson Elementary Schools in Kearny Cluster in 2026-27
An attendance area revision is proposed for a portion of the Nipaquay Elementary attendance area West of the 163 to be reassigned to Carson Elementary. The middle school attendance boundaries will not be revised. The change does not apply to currently enrolled students, no students need to change schools. The change will apply to new students enrolling for the 2026-27 school year

Adjustment to Attendance Areas of Clairemont and Madison Cluster Schools in 2025-26
Attendance area revisions were proposed for Holmes Elementary, Lafayette Elementary, and Sequoia Elementary in the 2025-26 school year. Revisions were also proposed for Innovation and Marston Middle School attendance area boundaries to align with the proposed elementary changes. Attendance area revisions are also proposed for Clairemont and Madison High School to align with the elementary and middle school changes.
